Ever wondered if your squat depth is really there, or if your bench tempo is doing you favors? Form Analysis lets Gravl's AI watch a video of your set and give you honest, actionable feedback.

Analyze your form
You can start an analysis from three places:
- During a workout: open the exercise and tap the Form button.
- From an exercise's Analytics: open the Form tab and add a video.
- From an exercise's past analyses: on the Form tab tap View all, then Add in the top right.
Then either Record New Video with your camera or Choose from Library if you already filmed the set. Gravl processes the video and the AI gets to work. ⏳
Your score
Once the analysis is done, you'll get:
- An overall score from 1 to 100, with an arrow showing how it compares to your previous attempt.
- A rating level: Strong (80+), Moderate (60-79) or Needs Work (below 60).
- Three sub-scores: Form, Tempo and Range.
- Two lists that make the score useful: What You Did Welland To Improve.
Your analyses are saved per exercise, so you can rewatch your Last Review, browse the History and literally see your technique improving over time. You can delete any rating from its options menu.
And if you're feeling competitive: the Form tab also has a leaderboard, so you can compare scores with your friends.
Gravl Tip:
Film from an angle where your whole body and the full range of motion are visible, with decent lighting. If the framing or quality makes the analysis impossible (or the video shows a different exercise), Gravl will tell you instead of guessing a score.
Good to know
- One video = one exercise. Film the actual set, not the whole workout.
- Keep it short: an analysis runs on 10 seconds or less, so Gravl has you trim the clip before it uploads. If the trimmed video still comes out over 5 MB, Upload for Rating stays disabled and you'll need a shorter one.
- Scores are meant to track your progress. A "Needs Work" isn't a judgment - it's a to-do list.
