Repeat Meals with Routines

Set a meal, a shake, or your daily supplements to repeat on the days and time you choose.

Meals on a schedule

Some things you have almost every day: the same breakfast, a post-workout shake, a morning vitamin. A routine remembers them and brings them back on the days you pick, so logging them is a single tap.

Creating a routine

In your journal, select the foods you want to repeat — tap each entry, or tap a meal's hour to select all of it — and choose Make routine. Give it a name, pick the days, and set its usual time.

The routine keeps the foods and servings exactly as you selected them. If you make it from something you already ate today, today counts as done and the routine starts from its next day.

You can also start one from scratch: in Profile → Routines, tap +, add foods from search with their amounts, then give it a name, days, and a time.

Today's routines

On its days, the routine appears under Today's routines, above your meals. It's shown dimmed and doesn't count toward your totals until you log it.

  • Log adds its foods to the journal, grouped as one card. Tap it within two hours of the routine's time and they go in at the moment you tapped, since the same breakfast rarely lands at the same minute; further away — a breakfast you only remember in the afternoon — they go in at the routine's time. Hold Log to choose the time yourself.
  • Skip hides it for today.
  • Both show an Undo right after, in case you tapped the wrong one.

Routines only appear on today's journal — past days stay exactly as you logged them.

A reminder at its time

If a routine's time comes and you haven't logged or skipped it yet, your phone reminds you; tapping the notification opens your journal. Log or skip it earlier and it stays quiet that day — undo before its time and the reminder comes back. Paused routines don't remind you.

When a routine falls within an hour and a half of the reminder for the same meal — your usual breakfast at 7:45 and the breakfast reminder at 8:00 — you get one notification, the routine's, instead of two. A routine further away, like vitamins at 6:00, leaves that meal's reminder as it was.

To stop routine reminders, turn off Remind pending routines under Routines in Profile → Notifications.

Managing your routines

All your routines live in Profile → Routines, with their days, time, and calories. Tap one to change its name, days, time, or foods, to pause it for a while, or to delete it. Deleting a routine never removes what you already logged with it.

Inside a routine, tap a food to change its amount (a dish made of several ingredients can only be removed), swipe it away to remove it, or tap Add food to search for another. The changes apply from its next log — what you already logged stays as it was.

Good to know

  • A routine is a snapshot, like a saved meal: editing what you logged later doesn't change the routine.
  • Routines are handy for supplements and vitamins you take every day.
