Why contribute
Every region has products the catalog doesn't know yet. When you've already done the work of entering one accurately, sharing it means the next person who scans that barcode finds it instantly instead of typing the label all over again.
How it works
When creating or editing a custom food, turn on Contribute to the catalog. You'll be able to attach photos of the packaging — the label and the front of the pack are what make review possible.
Every submission is reviewed by a person before it joins the public catalog; nothing goes live automatically. Foods created by scanning a nutrition label with a barcode attached also feed this same review pipeline.
What's shared — and what never is
Only the food's information travels: name, brand, barcode, serving, and nutrition facts, plus the packaging photos you attached. Nothing about you — not your name, not your diary, not anything else from your account — is part of a contribution.
Changing your mind
You can turn the toggle off at any time. If the food hasn't been approved yet, the submission is withdrawn automatically. Your own copy of the food stays in My Foods regardless — contributing never affects your ability to use it.
