Does Gravl Macros Work Offline?

What works without a connection, what needs one, and how your data syncs when you're back.

What works offline

Your data lives on your device first, so the everyday actions keep working with no connection at all:

  • logging food from your recent foods, your own custom foods, saved meals, and recipes;
  • logging weight, water, and body measurements;
  • editing or deleting anything already in your diary;
  • changing your settings and targets;
  • opening the app — your diary, insights, and history are all there.

What needs a connection

Anything that talks to a server pauses until you're back online:

  • photo and voice analysis;
  • barcode lookups and nutrition-label scanning;
  • searching the full food database (your own foods still match locally);
  • importing recipes from a link or from photos.

You'll see a connection notice immediately rather than a long wait, and you can always fall back to logging from your recent and saved foods.

How syncing works

Everything you do offline is saved on your device and uploads automatically the next time you have a connection — there's nothing to trigger by hand. If you use more than one device, changes appear on the others once they've synced.
