What they are
Two places in the app offer a written explanation next to the numbers: Your coach summary in the weekly check-in, and What your expenditure means on the Expenditure screen. Tap one and you get a few plain-language sentences on why your targets moved, or what your expenditure's recent behavior actually means.
They're narration, not chat — there's no conversation to have with them, and there's no coach silently generating advice in the background. A summary is produced only when you tap.
Where the words come from
The math always comes first: the deterministic engine computes your targets, expenditure, and trend exactly as described elsewhere in this help center. The card then asks an AI model to put those already-computed numbers into words. The model is explicitly barred from recalculating or inventing figures — every number in the text is one the engine produced, formatted before the model ever sees it.
What gets sent is a compact numeric summary: goal, current and suggested targets, the expenditure estimate and its status, your trend rate, days logged. Your food diary, meal photos, weigh-in history, and identity are not part of it.
Practical notes
- Summaries are cached — reopening a card is instant and free until the underlying numbers change, which regenerates it.
- Retry forces a fresh explanation if one reads oddly.
- Generating needs an internet connection, and the cards appear once you have an active plan (the check-in card also needs the week to have met its data minimum).
