Why Did My Targets Change (or Not)?

Targets never move behind your back — here's the full list of ways they can change.

The rule

Your daily targets change in exactly two ways: you applied a check-in's suggestion, or you edited your plan. That's the list. The expenditure estimate moves daily as it learns, but it never rewrites your targets on its own — it only informs the next check-in's proposal.

"My expenditure changed but my targets didn't"

Working as intended. The estimate is the input; the check-in is the decision point, and you hold the apply button.

"I applied, but the change was tiny"

Also intended: suggestions are deliberately dampened so one week's evidence moves you partway, not all the way. If the evidence persists, next week continues the move. Slow and steady is the design, not a limitation.

"The check-in didn't suggest anything / I couldn't apply"

Three usual causes: the week didn't reach the data minimum, your expenditure is paused, or you're in Manual mode — where check-ins don't run at all and targets are entirely yours to edit.

"Different days show different targets"

If you've set high-calorie days, that's the weekly distribution at work. And past days always keep the targets they had when you lived them — history doesn't get rewritten.
