Your Weekly Check-In

Once a week, the app reviews your data with you and proposes adjusted targets — here's how the ritual works.

Updated

When it appears

Your check-in runs on a fixed weekday — initially the day you joined, changeable any time in your plan's settings. When the day arrives (and for a few days after, in case you miss it), a banner appears on your dashboard. Check-ins keep a weekly rhythm: a new one becomes available six days after the last, and a freshly created plan needs six days of life before its first.

The check-in reviews the seven days ending yesterday — today is still in progress, so it stays out.

What it shows

  • Your week: days logged, consistency, your weekly weight trend, and your latest scale weight.
  • Your expenditure: the current adaptive estimate and its confidence.
  • The proposal: current targets next to suggested ones, with the difference spelled out per macro.
  • Insights: at most three short observations, picked by priority from eleven the check-in can raise. A diet break in progress outranks everything; then thin data, then low adherence, then a day that looks partially logged, then eating well under or over target, then a stall, then good progress, with "on track" as the fallback when nothing else applies. The numbers behind three of them: a day under 40% of its target reads as partial logging, and a week averaging under 85% or over 115% of target raises the under- or over-eating note.
  • Optional modules for cleaning up the week's data before concluding anything (see Check-In Modules).

You always get the last word: apply the new targets or keep your current ones (see apply or keep your targets).

Why the suggestion is smaller than you expect

The check-in does not hand you the number the maths produced. It moves your current target 60% of the way toward it, and stops there.

Why one check-in never gets you all the way

A target of 2,200 against an expenditure that measures 2,600 and stays there.

Each check-in closes 60% of the remaining gap, so the first one moves the most and every one after it moves less. Four weeks to arrive, and no single week that jolts your day. This is why applying a suggestion and seeing a small change is the system working.

Starting from a 2,200 target, chasing a figure that stays put at 2,600. Four weeks to arrive, and no single week that jolts. That is the answer to "I applied it and barely anything changed": it changed by 60% of the gap, and next week it will close 60% of what's left.

One exception: protein is not dampened. It is set from your lean mass, which doesn't wobble week to week, so it goes straight to its computed value. Carbs and fat are then recalculated from the dampened calories with protein held fixed.

When there isn't enough data

A meaningful adjustment needs a meaningful week: at least 4 days of logged food in the seven under review, and at least one weigh-in. The weigh-in is the looser of the two — it counts anything from the last 30 days, not just this week — so the food days are almost always the binding condition. Below either, the check-in shows "Not Enough Data": applying is disabled, your targets stay put, and next week is a fresh chance.

There is a third case that looks the same but isn't. If your expenditure estimate is still calibrating, the check-in has the data it needs but not yet a number it trusts, so it shows your current targets unchanged and says so. That clears itself once seven logged days sit inside the last fourteen — see your first three weeks.

When there's no check-in at all

In Manual mode you set targets yourself, so there's nothing for a check-in to propose — the feature is switched off entirely until you leave Manual.
