Edit Your Program or Create a New One

The program wizard, what editing changes, and why "new program" archives the old one.

Updated

Two different doors

From the Program tab you can change your plan two ways, and they mean different things:

  • Edit program (the pencil on your targets card) rewrites your current program in place — same program, same start date, same history.
  • New program (the + in the header) archives your current program and starts a fresh one from today. Your old program moves to Past Programs, and the check-in clock restarts for the new one.

Rule of thumb: tweaking the plan you're on → edit. Changing chapters — a cut ends, a bulk begins — → new program.

The wizard

Both doors open the same step-by-step wizard, showing only the steps your plan mode uses:

  • Coached walks the full set: name, mode, goal, target weight and pace (skipped for maintenance), diet style, training type, calorie distribution with optional high-calorie days, protein preference, calorie floor, review.
  • Collaborative swaps the distribution steps for its custom per-day editor.
  • Manual is just four steps: name, mode, your typed targets, review.

Give the program a name you'll recognize later ("Summer Cut" beats "Program 3") — Past Programs is much nicer to read that way.

In Manual's targets step, a Macro total card compares your typed macros against your typed calories, with an Apply button that sets calories to match the macros — and a heads-up when the two disagree by a wide margin.

What saving does

Save Program applies immediately: your daily targets recalculate (or, in Manual, become exactly what you typed), and the change takes effect from today — past days keep their history. If you edited the goal or target weight, any "goal reached" state resets so it can be earned against the new target.

For small adjustments — target weight, pace, check-in day — you don't need the wizard at all: see Quick Plan Changes.
